Beach, Food and Music: the reason why me and my family always drive up to long beach island.

By william, age nine

Yesterday was the best day of our summer vacation! After building giant sandcastles and jumping over waves all afternoon, my stomach was growling so loud it sounded like a shark. That is when my parents said the magic words: “We are going to The Gateway!”

As soon as we walked inside, I knew it was going to be awesome. There were big TVs everywhere showing sports, and the whole place felt like a fun beach party. We got a table right near the stage where they have live music.

Then came the food, and oh my gosh, it was so delicious! We started with the Clam Chowder. My Sister and I had a race to see who could eat the whole bowl of soup first (I won!). You should never forget to add the crackers which makes the soup taste even more out of this world. My Sister ordered the Gateway Onion Rings on the side and I tell you, it tasted just like a meal in heaven .

The best part was when the band started playing music, and the waiter brought out our Warm Brownie Sundae. It had a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream melting over a gooey brownie, and we all shared it until the plate was completely clean.

If you are a kid visiting Long Beach Island, you must convince your parents to take you here. It is the perfect end to a perfect beach day!
